”It is unironically
disturbing, however, that he (Heino) chose in 1973 to record a version of ‘Schwarzbraun
ist die Hazelnuss’, a nineteenthe-century German folk song which was revived in
the twentieth century and became a very popular Hitler Youth anthem. As well as
the hazelnut, black and brown were the colours of the National Socialist Party,
the colours which the song’s protagonist hint that his Mâdchen should sport if
she wishes to be his girl. His version of the song was a great favourite witk
neo-Nazis and, in South Africa, pro-apartheid Afrikaaners.”
- et af de mere
bemærkelsesværdige og grimme kulturfænomener, som krautrockerne var oppe i mod.
Citatet stammer fra den aldeles fremragende bog, ’Future Day. Krautrock And The
Building Of Modern Germany’, af David Stubbs
