maligned and misunderstood. I don’t love the Grateful Dead necessarily, but I
love Jerry Garcia. Sad voice, cowboy/drug character, super American. I only
really love American Beauty and Workingman’s Dead-- the really good, straight
studio albums. Though maybe Love doesn’t sound like Jerry Garcia, he was
definitely one of the guides. He even came to me in a dream during the early
writing process and said a lot of nice shit to me. Ha.”
